Babelgum finally launched after months of existence in the shadow of the private Joost, the IPTV software made by the creators of Skype.
Of course the launch is in n Beta invite modus only, but open to anyone.
Although I started pretty early with Joost, the program, especially the content could not really tempt me, I must admit that Joost is much further than Babelgum already.
Sadly, Babelfish has little to no content right now and still needs more time than Joost before programs start.
Also the quality of Joost seems better, especially on a widescreen monitor (1280*800 on the notebook) the quality of Joost is better. After the jump, two screenshots : once full view of the Babelgum Welcome channel and once the tag search screen in window mode, 1024px wide. Click the images for full size view.
I especially like the feature to be able to search programs with tags, but also the possibility to record while watching.
Follow this link to get a Babelgum invite.
On a sidenote, if you are still looking for a Joost invite, leave a comment. :)
