The human race as a whole has always been a fan of activity. The ancient Greeks invented the Olympics, for crying out loud. Not only does the body need exercise to help with basic function, but activity, especially pertaining to sports, is one of the things that drives the entire world and gives them motivation to live. It sounds dramatic, but people would literally die if they didn’t have sports to watch, and often if they weren’t able to play the sports for themselves.
Since sporting events are such a driving force of society, they’re a large reason that people travel. The Olympics today are held every 2 years, right? The Summer Olympics rotate with the Winter ones, and people get to have their fill of the best athletes in the world every two years on national television, or they can choose to go in person. Sports teams in cities also drive tourism through the roof. People will travel across the world in order to watch their favorite team play.
If you’re a sports fan, here are the best places in the United States to travel for sporting events:
Los Angeles
Los Angeles is no doubt one of the Mecca’s of the world. Besides New York City, it’s the premier city in the states to do, see, or experience anything. It helps that the weather is warm year round, and the ocean is only a hop, skip, and a jump away…depending on traffic.
If you’re truly a sports fan, you’re going to want to book your lodging reservations for Los Angeles now, because not only do you have the Lakers in Los Angeles, you have the Anaheim Ducks, the Los Angeles Angels, the Clippers, the Dodgers, the Kings and the Rams. The sports range from football to basketball to soccer, to hockey, so it’s the prime place to be for sportsball related entertainment.
Dallas
Head on down to Texas if you’re in the mood for a big old dose of sports related competition. Texans are known to be competitive as it is, in any regard, but those who are into sports in Texas will give you a run for your money. Dallas and Fort Worth provide the perfect environment for many different sports, so when you visit, you must go to the famous AT&T Stadium. Right next door is the home for baseball at Globe Life Park in Arlington. Lastly, you can’t forget that Dallas is home to Nascar. If you’re a sports lover, Dallas area is a must.
Sportsball is always going to be a seller for world economy. People will pay crazy amounts of money to see their favorite team or to be able to play a round of golf. If you love sports as much as the average American, visit these cities, then once you’re done, visit some more. The game must be played.
