I’ve talked about the Dell XPS M1730 before in a previous post and how impressive the unit is. The company seems to be offering us more goodies by way of its XPS line though.
The Dell XPS M1530 is a svelte laptop that measures just an inch thick. But even with its slim shape, the 15.4 lappie has a number of cool features as well as options to add more.
The case is made of magnesium alloy and brushed aluminum, and has a built in 2MP webcam and two microphones. It also has two headphone jacks, a fingerprint reader, earbuds and an ExpressCard slot where you can put a remote in. But the goodies do not end there, it also has three Mini-card slots, an 8-in-1 card reader, WiFi tha can is compatible with 802.11 a/b/g and even draft-n, and a slot loading optical drive. For the more high tech minded, it can be outfitted with a blu-ray drive, integrated WWan or bluetooth. Standard features also include 4GB of RAM and a choice between a 320GB Hard drive or a 64GB SSDrive.
Such feature packed laptop means that it is going to be power guzzler. But that’s not a problem because you can get either a 6-cell or 9-cell battery. Intel Core2Duo processors are in the line and graphics chips can move up to 256mb of dedicated video memory. No news yet though if its going to be from ATI or Nvidia.
At a price that starts at $999, this is going to be one sweet Christmas gift.
