If you love to travel but you haven’t yet spent a lot of time traveling on the water, this may be something you want to add to your bucket list. There are quite a few ways you can travel on the water. From yachting to cruising and even taking a freighter, the type of vessel you choose to board will depend a lot on where you’re wanting to go and how much you’re willing to spend. But regardless of what type of travel to choose to participate in, here are three tips that just might make your boat travels more enjoyable for you.
Know What To Bring With You
Traveling by boat is much different from any other form of traveling you may have experienced. To have a great time on the water, you have to be sure that you’re prepared and have brought the right supplies. According to Nancy Parode, a contributor to Trip Savvy, one of your top priorities should be to bring items that will protect you from the elements. This should include sunscreen, a hat, a light jacket, and sunglasses. Also, you should be prepared for rough seas by bringing motion sickness pills and something to protect items that you don’t want to get wet. Especially if you’re traveling on a small vessel, you’ll definitely want to thoughtfully pick the items you’ll bring with you, as it may be hard to scavenge for something you may need if the boat has limited resources.
