Apparently, Microsoft thinks that laptop cooling should be given enough professional attention that it felt it needed to make one.
Microsoft revealed it will be releasing the Notebook Cooling Base this coming July and it will sell for
$29.95. Many pundits think this quite strange since laptops start producing heat because it is working — meaning, it is running Microsoft’s operating system. The constant use of the processor and the memory are the reasons laptops get very hot. Why Microsoft should make a cooling base and not just program a better and more efficient operating system that could be run on slower speeds or even in a mode that will suck less power we will probably never know.
The Cooling Base will have a fan and will have an ergonomic slant to allow for faster and easier typing. At 1.16 inches think, it will also have a cable management clip and will be powered through the USB.
