So a few people have wondered what Google would do for their 2006 April Fools joke and it’s just been posted as of 12:02 AM PST:
Pin All Your Romantic Hopes on Google
When you think about it, love is just another search problem. And we’ve thought about it. A lot. Google Romance™ is our solution.
Google Romance is a place where you can post all types of romantic information and, using our Soulmate Search™, get back search results that could, in theory, include the love of your life. Then we’ll send you both on a Contextual DateTM, which we’ll pay for while delivering to you relevant ads that we and our advertising partners think will help produce the dating results you’re looking for.

Since the initial launch, Google News has added support for many different languages and countries, added customization to create specific sections just for you, supported sign-on with a Google Account so that you can get you customized news anywhere you want, improved the scoring to find more relevant news sources, and added support for RSS/Atom feeds. With the launch of recommended and “most popular” news stories, Google News is leaving beta.

So a few months ago there was this cool flashlight at Costco that doesn’t require batteries or to be plugged into a wall for charging. It’s the DuraPRO MegaBRITE. You just wind it up to charge it. The Costco deal was 2 for $20.00 and I figured they’ll be around for a while so I didn’t grab a set when I saw them. Bad move. Read on.
They were sold out when I went back a week later. Dammit. No cool flashlight for me.
Fast forward to this afternoon. My friend Philip gave me one. W00t!
Here is a picture of the blister pack:
I cranked it three times and left it turned on to see how long it would last. Well 4 hours later the thing is still glowing bright. From the reviews I’ve read, they can last up to 5-7 hours on just a few cranks. We shall see how long this thing can go.

I get lots of comments and questions asking me where do I go online for good Technical News information? My site of course!
Actually there are many good online sources I check out on a daily basis which I reference to on my site.
A couple of my favorites are TechWeb and ZDNet.
I’m now starting to add links to the full stories I reference on my site for your reading enjoyment.
and now… off to have some lunch.
