In this digital age, not everyone owns high-tech devices and it’s not always necessary to have the most updated models. Some may own smartphones or laptops but those that still have low specs.
But despite not running on the most advanced system, low-spec laptops can let you enjoy playing computer and other video games you like.
Many PC games can still run on older laptops including those with integrated graphic cards. The 2D animated games are best for low-spec laptops although there are 3D games now that can also run on these older PCs.
Need for Speed Series
Porsche Unleashed. Released in 2000, the Need for Speed Porsche Unleashed is perfect for racing lovers particularly the boys. It supports a resolution of 640×480 and is coded very well. This game is considered one of the best EA (Electronic Arts) ever made that features factory driver challenges. And despite its low specs, gamers can enjoy clear details such as that of smoke, flares as well as landscapes and cities.
Underground 1 and 2. Released in 2003, Underground 1 was the first street racing game that featured NOS effects and motion blur. It was more improved compared to the previous releases. The 2nd in the series featured more new cars and one of the best music titled Riders on the Storm. These two games cna be played on a Core 2 Duo, dual core processor or even on an old Nvidia 610.
GTA Series
Vice City. With a basic graphics card and processor, one can already play this game on any computer. A low-res laptop with a resolution of 800×600 can still run this game that features a story and small missions. Released in 2002, Vice City’s file size is only 1.5 GB.
San Andreas. The GTA San Andreas is considered one of the most popular open world games. With better graphics, it has several mods and can now be bought at a much lower price. Released in 2004, its file size is around 2.0 GB.
Max Payne Series
Max Payne 1. The original game released in 2001 is well known for its great background music and story. It achieved many firsts as well such as the bullet decals and shadows.
Max Payne 2. The second version known as the fall of Max Payne was released two years after the first in 2003. It was simply a continuation of the first but critics say it lacked major new features.
Gunpoint
Gunpoint is one of the best low-spec computer games in 2013 focusing on espionage, murder and mystery. It is an adventure game in 2D format that allows players to do stunts such as jumping at great lengths, sticking to walls and ceilings and rewiring devices. Some tasks involved are to open a security door by wiring a light switch and turn out the lights to trick enemies using a guard’s gun.
