Western Digital recently released a new 2.5 hard drive that operates at 10,000 RPM that is incorporated into a 3.5 inch form factor, in what the company hopes will become the new favorite among enthusiasts.
The new Velociraptor hard drives will be made availabled in 300GB capacities and is touted to bring 30 per cent more in performance compared to its “older” drives. The price of the new drives will be pegged at $299.99, it will reportedly also be included in some Alienware PCs.
The Velociraptor looks like a great candidate for those looking for primary drives. the fast RPMs only mean faster access times. This could be a great candidate for the upgrades I’m considering for my present computer.
